Which kind do you need?
Building or upgrading a gaming PC: an NVMe SSD of at least 1TB for Windows and your games. A modern game takes 100GB or more, and a good PCIe 4.0 drive loads games almost as fast as a PCIe 5.0 one for less money.
An older PC with no M.2 slot: a SATA SSD. It connects with the same cable as a hard drive and is still many times quicker at the small reads that make Windows and games feel fast.
Lots of space for media or backups: a hard drive next to your SSD. Space costs a fraction of what it does on an SSD, and speed matters little for files you only store.
