About MaxMyBuild

MaxMyBuild is a free PC builder that picks the best performing set of fully compatible parts for whatever you are willing to spend. Every recommendation comes from published benchmark results and live retailer pricing, not from opinion.

What we do

Choosing PC parts means holding a lot of moving pieces in your head at once: which CPU is worth the extra money this month, whether a board will actually take that chip, whether the power supply has enough headroom. We do that work for you. You set a budget, and you get a build where the parts fit together and the money is spent where it buys the most performance.

Alongside the builder we publish component pages, benchmark charts and comparison pages for graphics cards, processors, motherboards and power supplies, so you can check our reasoning instead of taking it on trust.

How we make our recommendations

Performance figures come from established, published test suites: PassMark and Geekbench for general throughput, Cinebench 2024 for productivity workloads, 1080p gaming results for real world frame rates, and Cybenetics measurements for power supply efficiency and noise. We do not publish scores we invented, and we do not rank parts by how much a retailer pays us.

Prices are pulled from retailers throughout the day and refreshed continuously, because a part that was good value last month is often not good value today. Performance per dollar is recalculated from the current price rather than the launch price, which is why our rankings move over time.

Compatibility is enforced as a hard rule, not a warning. Socket, chipset, memory type and speed, form factor, and power draw all have to line up before a part can appear in a build. If we cannot confirm a specification, the part is left out rather than guessed at.

Who we are

MaxMyBuild was founded in 2025 by Andreas Laugård Hald and Liza, two engineers based in Denmark. We built our own gaming PCs the slow way, spending weeks reading conflicting advice and chasing deals, and came away thinking the research part should be automated.

Andreas writes and is responsible for the editorial content on this site: the guides, the component pages and the benchmark analysis. If something here is wrong, it is his to fix, and you can reach him at [email protected].

How we make money

MaxMyBuild is free to use and does not require an account. We earn a commission when you buy through some of the retailer links on this site, at no extra cost to you, and we show advertising on some pages. Neither of those influences which parts we recommend or where they rank. The full disclosure is in our privacy policy.
